Content is the most powerful tool you have in your search engine optimization strategy. Relevant content, optimized for keywords, and published frequently can shoot your website to the top of the search engine results. That being said, there are a few strategies it helps to know when writing and optimizing your content.
#1 – One page, one keyword.
Keep it simple and optimize each webpage (or blog post) for one primary keyword. You could include a couple of secondary keywords that might be extensions of the primary keyword. However, trying to incorporate too many keywords into one page diffuses the results.
#2 – Use your keyword strategically.
There are a few prominent places to position your keyword so the’re recognized by the search engines. These locations include:
* Your headline,
* Any headings or subheadings in your content,
* And the first and last paragraph of your content.
#3 – Let your words flow naturally.
Many beginners are tempted to place their keywords in every single sentence. That generally creates an article or page that’s extremely difficult to read. Instead, write your content and then go back and position your keywords using the strategy we just outlined. Make sure to sprinkle other relevant words throughout your content as well. (Remember Latent Semantic Indexing)
For example, if you’re writing about puppy housebreaking, you can also use the words potty training, or housetraining.
Having a keyword strategy for each piece of content you write and following the tips we’ve outlined will go a long way toward helping you reach the search engine results you desire. The bottom line, write quality and well focused content for your audience first and the search engines second. Because, after all, your audience is the key to profits and a successful website.

Hey Mark,
Great post subject, this is actually something I do regularly in my posts, articles also with anchor text in the bio, and if the blog comment i am leaving is on an eBay niche blog, I leave one there too!
I tried putting an anchor text keyword phrase in a few comment boxes just to test its viability but I found the spam filters didn`t seem to like this!
Also a keyword phrase is most powerfully used “frontloaded” in the title of your eBay listing, this with the right keyword research will blast your listing high in front of most of the buyers for your niche product, beating competition in eBays “best match” search results!
Alot of people do not realise yet that “best match” is the standard search protocol!
Anyway Mark, its great to be back on your blog man the contents awesome as usual!
Later….Ed.
Search Engine Optimization can have an intense effect on your business. If you do it well, your site will have many visitors and your sales will increase. If you do it badly, the results of your marketing efforts will greatly be decreased. Keyword strategies are primary parts of any SEO project and precise keyword optimization can yield superb Search Engine rankings, and therefore a higher number of site visitors.
Thanks for the post. I agree that the more natural it is, and the simpler the keyword focus is the better. Nice to see such a concise article.
