So you are writing or thinking about writing e-books, and you want to make a living from it. A lot of times people think they can go to all of the random informational/article sites and make themselves ready. If you ever want to take your e-books, and make money off of them, these are 5 ways to supercharge your e-book writing.
1. Niche
Your e-book(s) must provide information to the reader that is original and something they have never heard or seen before. Address a problem, concern, desire, or need that the reader already has. Your purpose is to find a solution to that problem. You can even develop your own “niche” and provide them information they cannot find anywhere else.
2. Catch Their Attention
If nobody wants to read your e-book, then you will never sell it. The best way to catch their attention is with a catchy title and a well written sales page. If you intrigue them first with a title & sales page, make sure to keep the content of your e-book written well enough to keep their attention & reduce refund rates. (which can be high for “infoproducts”)
3. Too Much Information
Never give out too much information. E-books are meant to tell a story, but they are not novels or textbooks. Give them enough information that they feel satisfied & enough information so that you have solved their problem, concern, desire or need. No body wants to read an extra 30 pages of fluff that they didn’t even need to read.
4. Market Your E-books
You do not have to necessarily pay for advertising to let people know about your e-books, but you do have to let people know that they are available. Get your e-books listed among the many listing sites available online, create an affiliate program & contact people with similar products & set up joint ventures
5. Be The Best
Prove yourself as an expert in whichever topic you are writing about. There are many ways of doing it, but the basics include a lot of research, and ultimately good writing. Submit articles to ezinearticles.com & goarticles.com on your niche topic also visit forums & answer peoples questions. This is a great way to make yourself an expert in just a few days!!

The hardest part for me on your 5 ways, is number 1, filling a niche need. If i ran a make money online blog, then i know the answer to number 1, but what if the niche is not money online. For example, my niche is vegetarianism and green living.
How do i find out what concerns, needs, desires, etc my specific niche has?

There is no doubt that this is a good article. I wholly and entirely subscribe to what you stated here.
Nevertheless, it will be appreciated if you can go a little further to state how one could conduct a research to identify a suitable niche to write on.
For example, Missy said she is a vegetarian. What are the areas she could write on? Is it the advantages of vegetarianism as against meat which is said to create problems of collesterol? What type of vegetarian diets produce what vitamins or are rich in vitamins and minerals or could induce relaxation, if that is seen as a problem? Where can they be cheaply bought?What weather conditions are favourble for their massive cultivation?
Some vegetables are said to be therapeutic, helping to prevent such ailments as cancer while some facilitate clear vision, etc.
You may need to guide her on how to produce a suitable and saleable ebook in that respect.
Some other persons may be interested in writing on Search Engine Optimization or Affiliate Marketing. You may want to assist us create saleble ebooks dealing with those subjects.

Mark – points all well made. Create a thing of value first and foremost – and skip the padding. The packaging and wrapper are just tasks after that. At the end of the day information is the single most valuable thing we can ever possess.

Good post. Some have mentioned above that it was a little too vague. I think it lists the basics well, but then again, to post the whole process would have taken many pages!
I think its important to find a profitable niche first, before you do anything else. I mean, why do all the work, then find out nobody wants it. So, do the niche research first, find what people want and need (browsing forums based on the niche are great for this), then build a product that helps them. Go where there is demand, dont try to make the demand, you’ll just waste time and effort. Go fishing where the fish are, not in the empty pond.
