If anyone loves speed it’s Google. They probably have the fastest loading pages on the web & now they want to help webmasters do the same. Enter Google Site Performance.
According to the Google Site Performance site “Google’s goal is to help webmasters track site performance and improve the speed of their pages. Therefore, we recommend that you review your Site Performance data regularly. The Google site http://code.google.com/speed lists tools such as Page Speed which can help you diagnose and fix speed issues. The site also contains helpful articles and active discussions to help you improve your site’s performance.”
The Tools & Downloads section of the site is extremely helpful with applications that can measure your websites performance, load times & includes the IBM Page Detailer Tool which “is a graphical tool that enables Web site developers and editors to rapidly and accurately assess performance.”
The bottom line is a slow website means people are more likely to leave meaning less revenue for you, so If your websites a little sluggish then the tools & help Google provides are definitely worth a look.
