To be honest I could probably count on one hand how many times I’ve used Bing & it’s usually by mistake when I type something into my rarely used Internet Explorer address bar, but new data from ComScore is showing Bing making in roads in the search market.
Google is still by far & away the leader with over 65% but Bing has reached a commendable 16%. Personally I don’t think Bing is ever going to compete with Google on web search but with the beautiful Windows Phone 8 system due for release soon it might have a shot with mobile & local search.
Here’s the full list of Search Share percentages for August. (Supplied by ComScore)
- Google: 66.4%
- Bing: 15.9%
- Yahoo: 12.8%
