Hope your weekend is going well. I’m just tying up some loose ends and packing as I’m heading off to Florida next week.
If you’ve been a subscriber for a while you will know I started flying lessons about a year & half ago; well due to Ireland’s “wonderful weather” & I stopped training over here but next week I’m heading out to Florida for a month to finally do something I’ve wanted to do for a long time & thats get my private pilots license.
And one of the joys of having an online business is I will be able to keep working from Florida thousands of miles away from home!
Right, well I promised you ways to get traffic & increase your search engine position So Here We Go……
The Press Release/Google News Trick
1. Go to google and see what some of the top news stories are in google news at the moment. If you can relate one of these stories to your industry – fantastic! What you do is go ahead and write a news article on that topic, if you can include keywords you want to rank high for in Google even better.
Now in your news article be sure to use a quote from you on the story. So for example lets say your talking about the recession, a popular topic at the moment, then you would say – Mr/Miss YOURNAMEHERE from http://www.YouWebsiteHere.com says “A recession is imminent” or whatever.
This way you have included a relevant link for your website in the news article. Now here’s the cool bit. Head over to http://webwire.com and do a web post of your article for under 20 bucks, and believe it or not your article with your name & your website address will be in Google News one the most high traffic sites on the web within about 10 minutes!! It a great way to get traffic & links and I highly recommend you give it a go.

And as you can probably see you don’t have to be a fantastic writer to get traffic and links from this technique you just need a relevant story.
Submitting To Directories
2. Just by submitting your website or blog to directories you can get free traffic from those websites but also get links back to your site from a high page rank directory which will increase your search engine rankings. Some directories charge & some don’t but here are some of the top directories you can submit to:
